FluentTales is a language-learning app. We designed it to know as little about you as possible. This page explains exactly what that means.
To understand which stories and levels learners enjoy, the app and the free web reader at fluenttales.app/read.html send anonymous usage signals (for example, "a chapter was opened", "a chapter was finished", or "a word was tapped") to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service. Signals are anonymized using salted hashes; neither we nor they can identify you or your device. No advertising identifiers are used, and no cookies are set.
The web reader gives each visit a random identifier that lives only in your browser tab’s session storage. It is discarded when you close the tab and cannot link your visits together or follow you to other sites. We never send the text you read, the words you tap, or anything you type.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google through your app-store account — we never see your name, email, or payment details. To know whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which stores a random, anonymous identifier and purchase state (no personal information).
Stories, pictures, and narration are downloaded from our content servers (hosted on Cloudflare). Standard server logs (IP address, request path) may exist briefly for security and reliability; we don't use them to identify or profile anyone.
FluentTales stories are generated with AI and reviewed before publishing. AI is used only to create our content library — never on your data, your voice, or your reading behaviour.
If you email us (hello@fluenttales.app), we use your address only to reply. No newsletters unless you explicitly ask for one.
